Newborn Thumbelina by Ideal
Following the success of the early 1960’s Thumbelina Doll, Ideal produced a doll from 1968 to 1972 called Newborn Thumbelina. She was just 9″ tall, had a vinyl head, arms, legs, and a soft stuffed cloth body. She had a sweet little face with painted features and a pull string on her back that made her “squirm” when pulled. She was marked 1967/IDEAL; TT-9-H108/JAPAN on her head and came dressed in a topper and tights or pj’s. Assessories, such as a cradle or carriage, could also be purchased. Different versions of Ideal’s Thumbelina has become very popular with collectors.

I had this doll as a child, she had the same top but her bottoms were pink. My doll got burned in a fire when I was young. I would love to hear from someone that has the doll I am describing, that is willing to part with her. I would cherish her for life. Thank you.

I have recently seen a few of these doll on eBay. Keep checking to see if one resembles your doll. The prices seem to be very reasonable. Thanks for your visit…come back often!

To Cristen and Penny,
I have this exact Doll only with pink pants. The doll is beautiful. I have just recently found her again after recently moving and unpacking. I am not sure if I want to part with her but I am thinking about it.
My daughter doesn’t want her and my grandkids are to little to apprecaite this beautiful little doll.
I don’t even know how to put a price on her. If you are interested please let me know or anyone else for that matter.
The ones going on ebay for hardly nothing are very dumb in my opinion. Again I am not sure I am going to part with her yet or not but if I do it will not be for a low price.

I am looking for the 9″ bald thumbellina that had a pull string on her back. She squirmed when you pulled the string.
